Random Thoughts About Duco Magic, Cars and Life in General

dreamstimecomp 16076441If you are reading my blog for the first time, welcome! I'm Linda Lorraway, and I'm proud to be a part of a national community of car enthusists and at the helm of a great business allowing me to do what I love.  Like many Aussies, cars are a part of my life and I'm thrilled that every day I get to do something I love.  Of course, managing this growing business takes a lot of my time, much of it now spent behind a desk!  But I'm glad to say that I'm still out there, 'on the ground' so to speak, working with customers every day, using the products we manufacture and the processes we create.

My Story

I started working as a Duco Magic Technician ages ago. I knew I had found a business I belived in and wanted to go further.  Eventually, to quote Victor Kiam'I liked the company so much, I bought it!'  Victor Kiam was the guy who made his wealth as the President and CEO of Remington Products, which he apparently purchased after his wife bought him his first electric shaver!  So, there you have it.  I'm a believer in the great product and services that Duco Magic and our team of technicians supply.  And to my valued technicians, most of whom know me by sight or at least by name and voice, to you I say thankyou for your onging commitment to the high standards we stive for.

I hope you all enjoy reading my blog.

Head spinning day today.  Spent this morning doing a crash-course in website content management.

Expect more content soon!!

Today is an exciting day for us. Our new website went live just after midday today.  We hope you like it.

We've also got plenty of ideas for expanding it so keep coming back as the site grows with information and features.  We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Have a great day!

billboardOkay so we're not launching our 'Magic' musical in the famed theatre district, but our name is 'up in lights' so to speak with the release of our billboard campaign last week.  We want the whole world to know about the 'Magic' we can perform on all sorts of vehicles.  So, just in case you have yet to see our billboard image, here is what it looks like.  Call us today.  We think you will take a shine to our work!

Take care.

Job security is a big issue today. In addition, job satisfaction can make a real difference in your life. I'm sure we have all heard the quote, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”  I think it is attributed to Confucius.  But it's true of many who are self-employed in the field of their choice.  The good thing about this is that when you are happy doing something you like, especially if you are getting paid for it, you tend to do a better job than when you hate what you are doing.  Therefore your 'client', the person that you are performing a service for, gets a better result. When you are self-employed, you can see the benefits of this.

When I finish a scratch removal, a headlight repair or apply our fantastic Protector Glaze to a car, I am my own critic.  I love what I do and want to improve each time.  My clients love that! They get great value for money from me!

If your job future is a bit hazy or you just don't like what you do, think carefully about a change in career. How about working for yourself? It takes dedication and effort to become good at something, but if you like what you are doing, well... time flys by!  It won't be like 'work' but a passion you just want to do. If you love cars and making cars look great, consider our Business Opportunites. I'd be happy to personally send you out one of our free InfoPaks.  Head over to the Contact Page and fill out the details, requesting that an InfoPak be sent to your address. It may be the best thing you do today.

Take care, over to you.

Today as part of our trial phase of the new Duco Magic Website, we launced our Dealer Locator, TechFind.  This will be a valuable tool for any Duco Magic technician that want's to generate more business leads. Today, many Internet users prefer to 'self-service' when it comes to finding out information about an upcoming purchase. So rather than make a telephone call to DM head office to find a local technician, they can now use our website and go directly to the technician.

We'd encourage all our indepentant Duco Magic Technicians to take full advantage of this feature and register your business with our TechFinder solution today.  Call the office to arrange it.

Have a great day.

According to a European car industry news website, the Ford Motor Co.'s Russian joint venture is cutting production and about 950 jobs at two factories in response to the falling ruble and deteriorating demand in the country.

A car plant run in partnership with Sollers near St. Petersburg will remove about 700 jobs as it drops a production shift in June. Another 250 temporary staff will be let go at a Ford-Sollers site in the country's Tatarstan region when it reduces to a one-shift operation.  So Australia's car industry is not the only one struggling.  Even more reason that owners will hold on to their current vehicles and will want to keep them in tip-top condition.  Just the ticket for Duco Magic.

You have to love Ford for their latest (but repeated) advertising for the 2015 Mustang.

To celebrate 50 years of the Mustang, the 2015 version convertible will be sent to the top of the Empire State building in New York. This feat will mark half a century of continuous production of the the much loved Mustang, and a repeat of the same stunt done back in 1965. Getting it up there is going to be difficult task. It's done bit by bit.

I wonder if Duco Magic should help them with any 'elevator' scratches? Ford... we're willing to come! Just sent us the airplane ticket.
